Bermuda is an island located in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 750 miles to the east of Cape Hatteras North Carolina. It is 21 square miles and has a population of 65,000 people. Bermuda has convenient daily air travel to North America and regular non-stop flights to London England.
Bermuda has been a British colony since 1609 and enjoys a stable political and economic environment. It is the oldest self-governing British dependant territory and has a judicial system based on English common law. The official language of the Islands is English. The legal tender is the Bermuda dollar, which is at par with the US dollar.
Bermuda has a sophisticated business and telecommunication infrastructure and a strong economy based on international business and tourism. There are currently no income tax, non-resident tax, capital gains tax or other similar taxes in Bermuda. There are also no exchange controls on offshore trusts.
